— Why Sablebrook
The practical advantages of working with a consultancy that keeps its scope narrow.
We do not cover everything in brand. What we cover, we cover carefully.
← Back to Home— At a glance
Six things clients consistently find useful about the way we work.
Narrow, Clear Scope
You know before you begin exactly what the engagement covers, what it produces, and when it ends. Nothing is vague. Nothing is left open.
Fixed, Transparent Fees
Every service has a published price in Singapore dollars. There are no hourly rates that accumulate unexpectedly, no add-on charges and no change orders.
Direct Engagement
You work with the same people throughout. There are no account managers who relay your feedback to a separate delivery team who then relay it back.
Usable Written Outputs
Every engagement ends with a document — a brand audit report, a tone of voice guide or written call notes. Not a slideshow that decays in a shared drive.
Flexible Retainer Terms
The monthly retainer can pause and resume as your situation changes. We do not require a minimum commitment or charge for paused months.
Strict Confidentiality
Your materials and the findings from your engagement are never referenced externally. We hold client work in confidence as a matter of practice, not just policy.
— In detail
B2B brand experience that is specific, not general.
Most brand consultancies work across consumer and B2B contexts. The techniques they apply are largely the same. Sablebrook works only in B2B, which changes what we look for in a brand audit and what we consider appropriate in a tone of voice guide. B2B buyers read differently. They compare more carefully. The vocabulary that builds confidence in a B2C audience can undermine it in a B2B one.
- Over a decade working specifically in B2B brand contexts
- Experience across professional services, technology and finance sectors in Singapore
- Familiarity with the decision-making context B2B buyers operate in
- No generalist frameworks applied without adaptation
Pricing structured around defined outputs, not time spent.
Hourly billing creates a misalignment between the consultant's interest and the client's. Sablebrook's services are priced by output. The Brand Audit is S$580 for the written findings and leadership note. The Tone of Voice Guide is S$210 for the complete document. The retainer is S$430 per month. These prices do not change once an engagement is agreed.
- Published prices in SGD with no ambiguity
- Fixed-scope assignments invoiced at start of engagement
- Monthly retainer billed month to month with no long-term lock-in
- No change orders if work takes longer than anticipated
Communication that follows agreed patterns and does not go quiet.
A common frustration in consulting engagements is that responsiveness drops after the agreement is signed. Sablebrook works to agreed schedules. Fixed-scope assignments have defined check-in points. Retainer calls are scheduled in advance. All enquiries receive an acknowledgement within one business day and a full response within two.
- Structured check-ins during fixed-scope work
- Retainer calls scheduled to suit client calendars
- Written notes after every retainer call
- Two-business-day response commitment for all enquiries

— What sets us apart
Distinctive aspects of the Sablebrook approach.
We do not write brand strategy on behalf of our clients.
Our work is to reflect clearly what exists and where the gaps are. Strategy and direction remain with the people who run the company. This is a deliberate distinction — advice that is owned by the client is more likely to be used than a strategy delivered by an outside firm.
We do not upsell into larger engagements.
The retainer and the two fixed-scope assignments are the full service list. There is no larger engagement to graduate to. This means our recommendations during an audit are not shaped by an interest in becoming your long-term brand agency.
Documents written for the people who will use them.
A tone of voice guide that only a senior marketer can interpret is not useful. We write for in-house writers, junior staff, freelancers and agencies — whoever will be applying the guide in practice. Plain language, worked examples, no unnecessary jargon.
Retainer arrangements without pressure.
Retainer calls are scheduled, not on-demand. This keeps the engagement structured and ensures time is used well. The written notes after each call create a record that accumulates value over time, even during quieter months.
